Creating a diet plan around the holidays might be one of the worst ideas.
You are only setting yourself up for failure , whether it be physical or mental.
You won’t be able to enjoy the foods you want or you will be so pissed at yourself for eating the foods you said you were going to stay away from.
You are always preparing yourself to hate the beginning of the year when you decide to find that New Years resolution.
So why not enjoy the holidays but prep yourself for the New Year.
I think waiting to start something is never a good idea because you can always say next time or tomorrow or next week or blah blah... however New Years is a good time to really start but why not get ahead of the game.
If you do all these things or majority of these things for the next 30 days.. I guarantee you will impress yourself and others, especially your family.
Get to sleep.. it is needed. Whether you are doing it for your physical health or your mental health or your immune health.. you will need to focus on sleep the next 30 days.
Get to drinking water. This is the same as sleeping. This will keep you full, keep you hydrated, and keep you healthy especially with everything going on.
I know majority of you live in the north.. but still get outside for a little. You need some type of sun exposure. It is really beneficial for your mental health and your immune system. (But stay warm)
Try to avoid sugar as much as possible. I understand it will be tough to avoid at all cost, enjoy the foods but try to limit them. If you can limit it to one or two days.. enjoy them in moderation but otherwise just say no go for the month, you’ll be surprised how much your body and mind will love you.
Read or learn for 30 minutes a day. Learn something new or read a new book. This will expand how your mind is willing to work and make you have more mental clarity plus you could learn a new skill.
Start working out 3 times a week. Shoot for something like 30 minutes a day. It doesn’t have to be a crazy workout, it can even be something like yoga. But prepare yourself for what you want to do in a month. Do not go balls to the wall right out of the gate.. you will not succeed. Enjoy the slow process and do what you can.
Eat some fruits and veggies everyday.. find some you like and eat them. I only like bananas, apples, and asparagus.. and guess what I eat them everyday. They help so much with your immune system and your physical health... take advantage of them.
Begin to do either deep breathing or meditation everyday for at least 10 minutes. This will prep your mind and help your physical Health. This will also help with your stress that is happening all around you. This can also help your immune system.
This 30 day kick start is not something to make you the healthiest person in the world but this is the best primer to get you ready to the New Years Resolution you are going to set out for.
