5 steps to relieve “depression”

No this is not the ultimate cure for depression or how to fix it but these are things you can do to notice that you could be causing your depression to be worse on your own.
Depression is a real thing and it is more than just feeling sad or down. Depression can be rainbows and sunshine and all you see is dark clouds and rain.
Depression isn’t just in your head. Depression isn’t something you can just get over.
However you can make changes in your life to notice that you could be making your desperation worse.
Here are some steps and things you can do:
- Notice when you say negative things like “I’m a failure or I failed” write down why you think you failed or how you failed and how can you fix it. I have failed many times in my life and I am glad I have because it is has made me a better person today because of it.
Move your body. Motion creates emotion. You have to get moving more. The more you stay inside and watch Netflix, the more depressed you will become.. trust me. Plus you’ll eat bad and feel worse for yourself. You are setting yourself up for failure.
Treat sleep like it’s sacred. Sleep is very important in your life. Trust me. I’ve been sleeping at least 7.5 hours a night and my life has changed a ton. Sleep is important to make you feel better in the morning. It will help with stress and cortisol.
Connect with people. Spend more time with the people you love. Don’t just spend time with people to spend time with them. Enjoy your friends and family who make you a better person. My dad is easily my best friend and I love spending time with him any chance I get.
Stay present. Try meditation more. Work on your breathing. Be mindful of your life. You have to work on making yourself a better person.
Again, this won’t cure your depression or make you feel better but it’s a start in the right direction.
