The gym is the most relaxing place in the world in my opinion.. but however once you begin to become consistent with loving it.

When you are forcing yourself to go to the gym and forcing yourself to eat terrible/bland food.. it’s never going to be easy.

It’s like learning a new job or skill as I have mentioned before.. it’s going to have its ups and downs.

The picture on the left is yesterday two years ago when I was just working out to lose weight and “compete” again.

I’ve been on stage a total of three times and I was training all three times just to lose weight and get in better shape and hated everything about it to be honest.

The cardio sucked worse than watching paint dry. The workouts sucked because I got nothing out of it except the time I was there. The food sucked the worse though.. all I could think about was the first day I could eat again and stop the “normal” eating routine.

However two years later .. I love cardio more than weightlifting in my opinion. I love starting my day with it. I get to listen to a podcast that makes my day or makes me learn more. I get to spend at least 30 mins with my best friend SAMS walking outside in the sun.. it’s like meditation and pure bliss.

I love training more than I ever thought because I see the purpose in certain exercises and certain rep ranges and constantly switching things up and hitting new goals. I am not just going to the gym to go anymore.. I am comfortable with one week lows where I may not hit any new goals but I know the next week I might lift more than I ever have.

Ugh the food.. it has became my best friend as well. I have learned to make new meals with different seasonings and sauces and mixing foods together that are on my diet but also realizing how tortilla with beef, cheese, and lettuce is essentially the same thing as beef, rice, lettuce, and almonds.

I have became more understanding that the food is the fuel you need for the gym and for life and for your body to just feel better instead of well I gotta eat because that’s just what you do right?

I’m not saying it’s going to be easy with becoming comfortable with loving the gym and the nutrition but the day you do.. it changes everything. The day you realIze going to the gym isn’t punishment and the day you realize the food you are eating isn’t a punishment for losing weight and it’s actually going to help you lose weight so you can enjoy that burger and fry on Saturday... the easier it is to go 4/5/6/7 days a week.

The gym can be your space and especially your safe space.. you just have to make it that way.

Trust me.. it took me awhile to learn that but however in the last 6-8 months.. my entire mindset has changed with the gym. I have made progress I never thought I would and it’s showing.

You can see the changes in two years.. obviously I’m not saying it has to be like that or anything related to it.. however I want the change in your mindset to happen. You have to become okay with the thought that the gym doesn’t suck as bad as you want to make it.

If you say you are dreading the gym.. like you say about work.. that gym session is going to suck trust me.. however maybe you do half the workout and go home and walk or something or just skip and go home and spend time with the dogs or the family and go do something outside.

Just become comfortable with loving the gym and nutrition and it becomes very easy to understand that those things are there to help you.. not make you miserable.

Everyone seems to say I’m probably miserable because I workout all the time and eat the same thing all the time.. but I’m probably happier than majority of people and to be honest I am the happiest I have ever been in my a life. I feel like a whole new person and I want that for others!

I hope you enjoyed this!
