Don’t half ass it

Well that never goes out of style does it? I mean think about it if you’re gonna do something, if you’ve chosen to do something.

For whatever it is easy, hard. If you give it your all and you don’t half ass it, win, lose, draw, get what you want, don’t get what you want, whatever the outcome is.

At least you’re not gonna have to wonder “Would the outcome have been different? What if I did give it my all?”

And boy… wondering that is what keeps us up at night.

This is one of the most powerful short speeches I have ever seen by one of my favorite actors, Matthew McConaughey.

But it’s powerful in a multitude of ways.

Look at it as learning something. If you give it your all.. you will learn double in a short amount of time compared to half as much in just as much time if not double the time.

Think about losing weight. If you went all in for one month and lost that ten lbs you really actually wanted to. Wouldn’t that be way better than losing 5lbs in one or two months because you wanted to drink every weekend or eat bad every weekend.

How about with work. If you half ass it especially by yourself.. you are just delaying how long it takes to get something done. Think in a team aspect. How would you like if someone half assed in on your team or if you were that person.

You have to stop lying to yourself and say you are going all in when in reality you are half assing it.

This used to be and I’m willing to admit it. Are you? Because I don’t think you are because you would rather what if than wonder how far can I really go.
