It is just science

BioLayne ... Layne Norton , probably the smartest nutrition mind in the world .. shared this post the other day.
I know this is going to be rough to read... because you will want to argue with it.
He is used to that and so is pretty much any nutrition coach. We get a lot of pushback of how you think it should be.
We know you think that you should have lost 5lbs this week because you were so perfect and you went to the gym and that is how it should have been.
Last week you lose 1% of your weight and this week you only lost .3%. Instead of looking at it as you lost 1.3% of your starting weight... you get disappointed.
You are disappointed that you only lost .3% of your new weight instead of looking at it as a whole.
Or let’s say the reverse side of that. You are constantly losing 2% of your body weight because you cut out everything and you’ve been doing hours of cardio.
Now instead of hitting your goal in a year, you hit it in 6 months. So you stop and go back to life as normal.
Now in less than a year.. you lost the weight you wanted and now you have gained back that weight plus more. Now at the one year mark of your starting point... you are heavier or back to starting weight.
This is because you have messed up your adherence To a calorie deficit and you lost the weight at an unsustainable rate.
Also .4 for a 120lbs person is vastly different than a 220 lbs person... so stop complaining that you lost this amount and this person lost that amount. 25lb is relatively easy over time for someone who is 200lbs. .. however someone who is 130lbs will take almost double the time.
It’s just science.. I know it sucks.. but like many things.. it will be worth it if you do not get discouraged and you keep the motivation.
Let’s work together and keep the motivation and have continued sustainability and be reasonable with eachother.
