Have you ever dieted and lost some weight or a good amount of weight fast?
Whether it was fasting, keto, juicing, detox, etc. you might have lost some weight really quick.
However when you decided that you’ve had enough.. you went back to your old diet and gained that weight and probably even more back. If you need to be sure I’m not lying... look up weight rebound by Layne Norton.
So say you lost 10 lbs... if you do it too quickly without an exit strategy or a plan to reverse diet.. I can guarantee you’ll gain that 10 lbs back.. I can probably also guarantee you will gain another 5 lbs on top of that.
The reason this happens is because you crashed diet to hit a certain number instead of being fine with the process and not worrying about the scale.
When you try and lose 10/15 lbs in a month.. that is not sustainable..
Plus you are crashing your hormones and many other things.
Sam Miller shared a post the other day explaining how getting your car fixed is like a diet. You are fine with how long it will take to fix your car even if they tell you it will take a week longer.. yet when it comes to weight loss.. you want it now.
This is why you need to go slow to really hit your progress and allow it to stick around. Otherwise you will continue to go round and round with weight loss journey .. while also causing more problems than just weight rebound.
This is why you work with a coach.. especially someone who will allow you to hit small goals and be okay with it. I will allow you to focus on being a healthier person rather than focusing on what a scale says.
