Is it really the fear of failure or is it the fear of not succeeding?
After speaking with Anthony Spada yesterday. We discussed our philosophy on what failure really means.
I always look at failure as just giving up because that is the way most people see failing.
But after speaking with Anthony.. we actually have the same belief that you do want to fail. Especially in training.
This is because you are pushing yourself to the end of your ability. Not giving up. You failed because you just couldn’t go anymore.. not because you actually failed
This list believe is a pretty cool one to think about.
Things to tell you after failure
Things didn’t work out the way I wanted.. but I’m still okay. Yes life sucks sometimes but you are okay.. you can still keep pushing.
Failure shows that you are pushing yourself. Again you can just give up or you can see that you are finally pushing yourself to see your potential.
I will focus on things I can control. Control the controllables. It was also a weird saying to hear but at the same time I get it. You can’t look or control things that aren’t in your control.
Failing feels uncomfortable but I can handle it. Failure sucks. Especially in the gym because you want to hit that weight or two... but you can handle it because you know I can go back and try again. Same with life.
Just because you fail.. doesn’t mean you are a failure. You are only a failure if you give up. You should fail everyday in my opinion. It’s how you grow!
Failure is an opportunity to sharpen my skills. This allows you to lean and grow more. It allows you to see wheee you messed up.
Recovering from failure can make you stronger. If you come back from failure.. you are already stronger than you were because you are physically and mentally tougher.
I’ve overcome tough things before, I can do it again. Life is not always sunshine and rainbows. You have to keep going.
If you need someone to talk to.. please reach out to me! Let me help!
