Why are you in a funk?

There could be plenty of reasons you are in a funk. But what you are doing to yourself could potentially be the real reason why.

However, yes there are outsider factors that are not in your control that are causing you to be in a funk.

A couple weeks ago Kaelyrd on Instagram shared the main picture of the post.

They are showing the main reasons why a person is forcing themselves into a funk and how they can begin to make the changes. I however wanted to add a few things to that list that help me.

Kaely shows off a list of things like: low blood sugar, not enough sleep, too much screen time, holding things in, potential of birth control messing up hormones, trauma you haven’t focused on, gut health not being fixed, not working on the deficiency of different nutrients in your body, if you are fighting an infection or inflammation (especially if you are sick), haven’t check your hormones, not communicating with your wants or needs, your stress is very high, you aren’t drinking water, and you aren’t moving enough.

So as you can see there is a lot of things that can cause you to be in a funk that you can control and fix.

Granted much like the saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, you won’t fix all of these things in one day or even one week. However you can begin to fix some of these things day by day.

This is why when you ask me or work with me I tell you to drink at least a gallon of water and take 6000-10000 steps a day. Those are two things you can fix immediately.

However looking at stress , sleep, too much screen time, and trauma. These are things you are going to have to work on. Some things to destress for are: take a walk on beach or through woods or even down the street, listen to a podcast or audio book (there are millions), or just relax for 5-10 minutes by yourself and take some deep breathes.

Fix your sleep and screen time by putting down the phone 30-45 minutes before you go to bed. Bed routine should become normal and it shouldn’t be normal to scroll through every social media every night until you are ready to go to bed.

Trauma, talk to someone, talk to a friend or family or even go see a therapist. You can’t hold everything in.

Now onto the stuff that will really take some time. The guy, testosterone/hormones, nutrient deficiency, and low blood sugar.

Go get tested for these things, see where you are low and how you can fix it. There are remedies that you can do. Some things are simple as taking vitamin D, taking a digestive enzymes, etc. Granted that won’t cure it in one day but it’s a step in the right way.

You have to begin to realize that you could be putting yourself in a funk and you need to be the one to change it. Again, something outside your control can put you in a funk and you have to do deal with that in your own way. But these other things will stick with you and keep you in a funk.

I hope you enjoyed this!
