Why make it more difficult

Do you realize when it comes to a goal you are wanting to achieve you are most likely making it more difficult than it has to be.
I hear it all the time when it comes to wanting to do something. “Oh I’m going to try to do (blank)” ..
Why are you going to try? Why are you telling someone you are going to try? Why not just do it and get it over with?
Why make yourself vulnerable by telling people you are going to do something? You are just making it more difficult to do it.
Here are a few ways you are making your fitness journey harder than it has to be but you can switch a few words and you can see how it’s making your life journey more difficult as well.
Having unrealistic expectations of how long it will take to achieve that goal. When it comes to weight loss.. if it took you a year to gain 20lbs... it’s probably going to take just as long to actually lose it. Be prepared.
Starting off with too much exercise and not enough rest to recover. If you jump into a new lifestyle 1000%... you are most likely going to give up .. especially if you aren’t seeing the results you want in a week.
Starting your calories off too low and thinking you need to cut them as soon as you “plateau”. If you start too low and you actually plateau... your calories can’t go much lower and you’re causing more damage than good.
Not exercising in a way you actually enjoy and you are cutting out your favorite foods. The best diet and the best workout is the one you enjoy... why would you want to cut out foods you love and spend hours at the gym hating what you are doing? That’s like standing at the DMV for an hour a day?
The all or nothing approach. Negative self talk. Trying to be 1000% perfect instead of 80/20. It’s going to take time... be proud of your approach at it. Be proud of what you are accomplishing daily... you are doing more than someone. And if you fuck up? So what.. keep going... you can’t quit every time something goes wrong. At that point you are delaying how long it will take.
As you can see.. these five things can be for anything in life. Whether it’s learning a new language or writing a book or learning a new skill..
However when it comes to fitness you want everything to be peachy and take 5 mins ...
TOO BAD.... that’s not how it works. Be okay with taking the time or you will be be very disappointed and also cause more harm than good
Sorry for being blunt.
